Oh boy. Today was a day and a half. We went over to the mother in laws house to do laundry. As we were waiting for the clothes to dry I went out to have a smoke in the front yard. I hear the next door neighbors screaming at each other, then the man screaming I've been stabbed. I called 911 to report it. Apparently, he was choking his wife and his wife stabbed him. He kept on scremaing oh God it hurts. The cops came and checked out the situation. I'm out there watching whats going on and the cop motions to me to come over there. I do. He asks me questions, takes my name, address and telephone number. I'm a witness now. They haul him off in an ambulance with a stab wound to the torso area, sirens and all. My question-- Why didn't anyone ever call the cops on my behalf? I remember the neighbors looking at me after I was hurt like, sorry kid, I can't get involved. Why not?!?!?!?!?! It is NOT that hard to get involved. All you have to do is pick up the damned phone. Was I not worth picking up the phone for? You can say, I wish to remain anonymous. No one has to know it was you that called. Isn't a person worth it? Wasn't I worth it? Guess not.
