Common disorder based terms
- Dissociative Identity Disorder. This is used in the DSM 4 as a new term forMultiple Personality Disorder
- MPD- This is the abbreviation for Multiple Personality DisorderDisorder
- Alters- This iws the term most therapists use forthe personalities in the Multiple
- Birth Person- This is the original person, whosename appers on the birth certificate. This is the creator of the otherpersonalities or alters.
- Dissociator- This too is the birth person, theone that dissociates as a mesure of self protection.
- Abuse- The willful act of harm on a child suchas physical, sexual, emothional, ritual, Satanic ritual.
- Littles- This is the term for child alters thatmany people like to use
- Bigs- This is the adult alters
- Teens- Not often used, but it refers to the teenagealters in this page. other people will either refer to them as a Littleor a Big.
- Intergration- This is the coming together of thealters into one person. this often happens when the issues that causedthe multiplicity is resolved
- Co-Consious- The act of more than one personality being aware of the outside world, results in the lack of loss of time
- Time Loss- When an alter has exclusive controlof the body, others are un aware of the actions that occur.
